SYLLABUS


Need Analysis: students in this class feels not interested about the course because this course only for students in English literary. They considere about this course is useless for teaching. For this reason, before start learning process, a teacher should be explain what the goals of learning and How the important this course.
LITERATURE II

1.      Introduction
a.      Course Overview
Generally, this course prepares the students to be able determine which the elements of narrative through watching the english movie and reading the english novel.  Students will learn how to determine and give their feed-back about the topic. This course compare the elemets of narrative between the movie and the novel. Students will watch the serial movie  by each of students, but for read the novel will works in groups to discuss a tittle of the novel  that given by the lecturer.
b.      Significance of the Course
Having watch the movie and read the novel is not only focused on how to determine the elements of narrative but also how they can expressing meaning in the simple monologue dialogue in the form of narrative what they find based on the movie and the book. Sense of students are also really necessary in use of language to evoke a personal response in the reader or listener. But, the important in this course is students know the meaning of the use language in the movie or the novel so, they will easy to determine its elements of narrative.
Besides determining students some new vocabulary that they can use in their daily activities, this course also allows the students to write the glossarium as adding vocabulary.
c.       Goal
Upon the completion of the course, Students will be able to determine the elements of narrative through watching the english movie and reading the english novel.
d.      Objectives
To be able to reach the goal, the objectives of the course have been formulated. As the completion of the course, students are expected to be able to:
1.      Copy some chapter from lecturer’s book about elements of narrative
2.      Write the synopsis of the serial movie and the novel
3.       Tell the result of their assignment that given by lecturer as a feedback.
